The Handmade House Azores is a Guest House registered under the Portuguese legislative term "Alojamento Local" (AL), which translates to "Local Accommodation", under the number 3114. This means that we do not provide typical hotel services, such as daily changes of bed linens or daily cleaning of reserved rooms. Similarly, towels are changed every 3 days for stays exceeding 5 days, aligning with our environmental commitment. Should you desire daily room cleaning and service, a supplement of 5 euros per day will be added to the total cost. Rest assured, daily cleaning is ensured in all common areas of the Handmade House Azores, including the shared bathroom.
THE KITCHEN
An spacious and tidy place equipped with the tools
you need to show off your chef skills.
The Kitchen and the dining room are spacious enough to be shared by more guests together.
You will not need to worry about the possibility of others touching your food: spaces in the fridge and in the kitchen are very well divided per room name.
We offer a diversity of products: salt, sugar, tea, coffee, oil and spicies.
Breakfast is not a service we offer.
THE GARDEN
Cuddle your eyes with a pitouresque view while listening to the sounds of nature.
Our 200sqm garden is the perfect area to chill and nourish your senses thanks to its pitouresque view over the Ocean and Porto Formoso's Valley.
During day time this is a great spot where to eat, to chill, to read a book or make yoga.
During night time it can be your spot for a barbecue or it can turn into your personal Milky Way observatory while you listen to the sound of "Cagarros" (typical nocturnal birds from Azores).
In summer nights we also organize a telescope nights, where you will be able to observe the stars and the moon cuddled by a cozy warm fire place.

An Italian couple's wild dream, a house, and now a reality
This Guest House is thought to give you the comfort and privacy you need while offering you the possibility to meet other guests. In other words, the Handmade House wants to be your Azorian nest. Located in the heart of São Miguel Island, it has become the accommodation of choice since 2021 for travelers seeking a reliable base to explore the island's natural wonders.
Nestled in the heart of São Miguel island, this guest house stands as the culmination of a dream brought to life through the owners' diligent restoration efforts. Over the span of 10 months in the year 2020, they dedicated themselves to transforming the property into the inviting guest house it is today.
Their greatest dream, however, came true in 2022 with the birth of their son, Diego, a child of this volcanic land.
